Ever since we began running our commercial, we’ve had questions about the song in it. We’ve always replied, and it’s no secret, that it’s our friend Zach Hendricks of Demidov behind it. As for that song, it’s actually an unused sample he was kind enough to let us use called Graphite.

Since we still get questions it, we felt it was time for a proper introduction. We had a chance to sit down with Zach to talk about his music and his recent release (out now and available on iTunes and AmazonMP3). Read the rest of this entry »

I like seeing how varied our customer’s cars are. Last time we featured a rat-rodded Volvo drift car, and now we’re looking at a rally ready VW Rabbit built on a budget.

It’s powered by a 60k mile cammed 1.6, coupled to a 5 speed with a limited slip, all neatly tucked away behind an 1/8″ steel skid plate. The tarmac, gravel, and dirt are handled by a custom-built suspension setup. Read the rest of this entry »

It never occurred to me that a Volvo could be cool. I’m not saying there aren’t any. But, when I think Volvo, I think beige 80′s box.

Not Tom B’s. It’s a dumped, turbo’d, drift car. A few things I don’t associate with Volvo. Read the rest of this entry »

When you first spot this Jetta, all that really needs to be said is a simple “wow”. The owner Chantha Thach, a local hard working student, has poured hours of research and time into building this one of a kind Jetta in the Midwest. The old school mesh wheels mixed with the more modern styling of the mk4 really do the trick, and the aggressive stretch doesn’t hurt a bit. What more could you want to do to the exterior of this sucker?  If you ask me, nothing! According the Chantha, color matching the hood, and new headlights are just around the corner.

The majority of time of this car was actually spent under the hood.  It took a nice investment, but the 2.9 Eurospec VR6 motor is simply doing its job with extensive head work.  “I’m very proud of it, but i’m far from done with it” said Chantha after asking him what was next on his car.  It’s taken time for sure to build the red beauty, but you can tell when talking to Chantha that he is very proud of what he has accomplished over the course of the build.  It’s all about that feeling of knowing you build it.

Jorge has been looking for a decent E36 chassis for a couple months now. Everything has either been too expensive or too weak. From here on, I’ll be known as “Magic Hands”, cause I accidentally stumbled across an awesome deal after only minutes on the internets.

Friday. I decide to take a look, see what I can find that fits the criteria. I find a silver E36 on coils, it’s semi-local, and the price-is-right. Yesterday afternoon, we load up and make the 1.5 hour drive to check it out. We go through the middle of nowhere, wind through some country roads, and end up face to face with it.

It’s a ’92 318i 5 speed on coils and purple Style 5′s, and it’s just the right amount of trashed to make a proper drift car. It runs and drives like a champ. The seats are in surprisingly nice shape, but the door panels are falling apart. The body’s not perfect, but it doesn’t matter, it looks rad, and I’m sure Jorge will crumple one of the corners sooner or later.

The project is scoped out, and we’ll bring details as the tetris pieces come together. Jorge took a few pics this morning on his way in, check them out below.
